Community Support for Small, Local Businesses

ABC 15 Arizona – This year for Small Business Saturday, the shopping holiday held to encourage consumers to patronize small and local businesses, Susan Nagi of Our Town America The Valley took it upon herself to head out to the busy streets of the Phoenix/Tempe area in her Our Town America-branded car to thank small business owners for all they do for the community.  Click Play on the video below to watch Susan on ABC 15 Arizona.

According to data from Greater Phoenix Rising, Phoenix is ranked #2 in the Top 5 Cities for Small Businesses List and Maricopa County is ranked one of the Top 5 Counties with Largest Employment Growth.  With 97% of the thousands of businesses in Phoenix employing less than 100 people and 85% employing 20 or fewer people, Phoenix is a haven for small business owners!

As an Our Town America franchisee, Susan is a small business owner herself and truly understands the hard work that goes into building a strong business the community can rely on.

Susan supports small businesses 365 days per year, as the Our Town America business model is focused on helping local business owners create a sense of community at their stores by welcoming new movers to town with free one-time gifts.

To show her appreciation for local Arizona businesses, Susan created the "Phoenix Small Business Support Squad".  On Small Business Saturday, she traveled in her branded car through town to surprise partnered local business owners with a Community Service Award and gift certificates for a free massage at Elements Massage and complimentary dinner at a local favorite, YC's Mongolian Grill.

While she, as well as 50+ Our Town America franchise owners, would love to recognize every hard-working small business owner, this year Susan started by first recognizing Friendly Auto Centers, Papa Murphy's on S Mill Avenue, and ISH Salon on E Chandler Boulevard.
